First af2 pro combine to be held April 13 at James Madison University
March 5, 2008 - arenafootball2 (af2) News Release
CHICAGO - The arenafootball2 league (af2) will have its first national neutral-site player combine on Sunday, April 13, in Harrisonburg, VA. on the campus of James Madison University. The event will be run by league partner National Scouting Combine (NSC) and will feature professional level coaches conducting the skill specific sessions. The combine will be held on field turf inside JMU's Bridgeforth Stadium.
An added benefit unique to this open tryout is that every athlete who participates will also have their combine stats and skill session performances digitally filmed and uploaded to their online af2 Network profile. Through the network, the combine results will also be forwarded to all af2 and AFL coaches and general managers.
If a player hasn't produced an online profile, they will have one created upon registering for the April 13th combine.
Interested athletes can pre-register for the event on the Web at http://www.nationalscoutingcombine.com/locations.php. The cost to participate is $125 on the day of the tryout. Players who pre-register before March 12, however, will receive a special discounted entry fee of just $85. Those who pre-register between March 13 and April 12 will receive a discounted entry fee of $100.
"This event will present af2 coaches with another great opportunity to view a large pool of prospective athletes who have a strong desire to play professional football," commented National Scouting Combine founder and CEO Jimmy Kibble. "Teams are always evaluating their personnel and looking to upgrade their rosters if possible in an effort to be successful in this ultra-competitive league."
For more information on the event, players can contact the NSC support staff toll free at 1-800-651-1030 or via e-mail at info@beyondsportsnetwork.com.
