
Firecats To Hold First Preseason Scrimmage This Saturday

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats will hold their first team scrimmage this Saturday, March 22nd beginning at 11:15 a.m. at Estero High School. The scrimmage is open to the public. Estero High School is located at 21900 River Ranch Road. This is the first of two scrimmages the team has scheduled during training camp. The next scrimmage is scheduled for Thursday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m.
Immediately after the scrimmage on Saturday, fans are invited to join the Firecats for lunch at New York City Pizza Delivery in San Carlos from 1-2pm. NYCPD is located at 18731 Three Oaks Parkway. This will be the fans first opportunity to meet the 2008 team and get to know the players.
The Florida Firecats announced the additions of Defensive Lineman Anthony Andriano (6'2" 245lbs) and Defensive Back Carlos Campbell (5'11" 190lbs) to the team. Both Andriano, a second year player out of the University of Buffalo, and Campbell, a second year player out of Notre Dame spent the 2007 season with the Tennessee Valley Vipers. Campbell led the team with eight interceptions, including a 50-yard return for a touchdown in the Vipers 39-38 win over the Firecats at Germain Arena last April. Andriano recorded four sacks in just three games with the Vipers before re-aggravating a groin injury.
The Firecats also announced they have placed Linebacker Jeremy Ellis on re-assignment.
