Florida Firecats News Release

ESTERO, Fl - The Florida Firecats are asking their fans to participate in a "White Out" for this weekends' 2nd round playoff game against the Manchester Wolves. Its win or go home time and the Firecats, now more than ever, need their fans' support. Fans are being asked to wear white and unite to make Germain Arena the toughest place for visiting teams to play in all of the af2.

Thunder sticks will also be given away at the door courtesy of ADT home security, as the Firecats look to lock down the Wolves and their Quarterback, former Ohio State Buckeye, Steve Bellisari who has the team riding high on a 5 game win streak.

Florida has definitely enjoyed a home field advantage recently at Germain Arena posting a 14-2 record at home the past 2 years combined. The hometown fans have also made an impact in the playoffs as well, cheering their team to a 3-1 all-time record at home in the post season.

"Our fans are tremendous," said Firecats Head Coach Kevin Bouis. "Our players feed off their energy, when they get loud and start screaming it's a definite advantage. There's always a couple off-sides calls a game and the fans are a big part of that."

Firecats opponents average 56 yards of penalties per game, more than the length of the field.

"That's huge," Bouis went on to say. "Our fans deserve to see us play at home, now it's up to us to deliver. We're looking for a big crowd this weekend. It's gonna be a big game for sure. This is what it's all about, a chance to get closer to a championship."

The Firecats, fresh off a 1st round bye, host the Manchester Wolves this Saturday August 12th. The Wolves are led by former Firecats Head Coach Ben Bennett. Manchester defeated Florida in New Hampshire 79-62 on May 20th in their only meeting this season.

Tickets for the Firecats 2nd round playoff game are on sale now. Call 390-CATS (2287) to purchase tickets.

Games can be heard each week on 98.9FM WGUF and online at www.ABC-7.com and www.NBC-2.com. The game will also be video streamed online at www.af2.com.
