HEAD COACHES:
Blitz head coach Gary Compton is the new Head Coach for the Bakersfield Blitz. Gary comes to the Blitz almost straight off the field. In 2004, Gary played his last season for the Arena Football League as a star receiver for the Philadelphia Soul. Previous years were spent playing for the Dallas Texans, the Fortworth Cavalry, the Milwaukee Mustangs, the Indiana Firebirds, the Grand Rapids Rampage, and the Tampa Bay Storm. For the 2005 season, Gary coached the Philadelphia Soul as their Offensive Coordinator. Gary started his football career in his hometown Irving, Texas. He attended East Texas State University where he was a four time All-Lone Star Conference, a two time All-American, and a member of the 1990 LSC Championship team.
Coach Siegfried is the inaugural coach of the Spokane Shock. It will be his second stint as an expansion coach. He has coached in the arenafootball2 league since 2001 and led the Cape Fear Wildcats to a 38-18 record over his three-year reign as head coach, which included three playoff appearances, and two championships. The Shocks week 1 win against the Stockton Lightning placed Coach Siegfried in a tie with Stockton Head Coach Richard Davis to be the winningest active coach in the af2.
