Firebirds Sign Ricky Hall to New Deal

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Firebirds of the Arena Football League announced today that they have re-signed veteran free-agent offensive/defensive lineman Ricky Hall to a two-year deal. Terms for the contract were not disclosed.

Hall (6'1, 290) has totaled 26 tackles (18 UA) and 2.5 sacks in his first three seasons with the Firebirds. A quick and agile lineman, Hall has provided the Firebirds with great versatility as he can also play the fullback/linebacker position. In 2002, Hall rushed the ball six times for 14 yards and scored two touchdowns.

"I am excited about returning to Indiana with the Firebirds," said Hall. "I have spent my entire professional career with the Birds and I look forward to competing for a championship in 2003."

As a four-year starter at Marshall University, Hall recorded 248 tackles (110 UA) and nine sacks in his collegiate career.

"It is always good to get one of your own back," said Firebirds general manager Joe Hennessy. "Ricky is a talented player who is improving every year and we are hoping that 2003 will be a breakout season for him."

The 2003 season marks the historical debut of the AFL on NBC. The network will broadcast 71 games next season, including all playoff games and ArenaBowl XVII on June 22. The Firebirds kick off the 2003 regular season on Sunday, February 2nd on the road against the Detroit Fury. The Birds home opener is slated for Sunday, February, 16th versus the Chicago Rush live on NBC Sports.
