FLINT, Mich. - The Flint Firebirds announced on Friday that they have selected right wing Cole Zurawski with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection.

Zurawski spent the 2023-24 season with the Mississauga Rebels U16 AAA of the GTHL. He appeared in 34 games for the Rebels and recorded 19 goals and 23 assists. The Etobicoke, Ontario native recorded two goals and three assists in five games during the OHL Cup.

"We believe Cole was the best player in the draft, he was number one on our list," Firebirds head scout Mike Oliverio said. "Cole can be a Coulson Pitre 2.0. He is a right shot forward who can score and is a great mix of a physical and skilled player."

The 2024 OHL Priority Selection, presented by Real Canadian Superstore, takes place across two days, with the first three rounds on Friday night and rounds 4-15 on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. Flint owns a total of 16 picks, including two in the second round, numbers 33 and 41 overall, and one in the third, number 48 overall. Live coverage of the draft is streaming for free on OHL Live, as produced by YourTV.
