Firebirds Players to Participate in Conseco Classic Youth Football Clinic

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Members of the Indiana Firebirds Arena Football team will take part in the Conseco Classic Youth Football Clinic this Saturday, October 5th from 9am-2pm at the RCA Dome. The Youth Clinic is free for boys and girls between the ages of 6-14 and is taking place in conjunction with the Circle City Classic weekend.
Among the Firebirds attending will be FB/LB Leroy Thompson, OS Eddie Brown, QB Raymond Philyaw, OL/DL Kyle Moore-Brown, OL/DL Ricky Hall, WR/DB Donnie Caldwell and FB/LB Sunungura Rusununguko.
In addition to football instruction, participants receive life skills information, study skills tips, a clinic t-shirt, lunch and a complimentary game ticket to the Circle City Classic.
This year's game features the Southern Jaguars vs. the Alabama A&M Bulldogs.
The Circle City Classic is a joint collaboration between Indiana Black Expo, Inc. and the Indiana Sports Corporation. The net proceeds from the classic help support youth initiatives for each organization. Since 1984, over $600,000 in scholarships have been awarded to deserving youth who attend colleges and universities. Additionally, each year the classic's educational partner, the Indianapolis Black Alumni Council, host an educational college fair that exposes over 1,500 youth to colleges and universities with scholarship opportunities exceeding $3 million.
The 2003 season marks the historical debut of the AFL on NBC. The network will broadcast 71 games next season, including all playoff games and ArenaBowl XVII on June 22.
