Tupelo FireAnts News Release
The FireAnts are gearing up for their third season of professional indoor football in Tupelo. With the NIFL kicking off in mid-March 2003, the FireAnts are currently looking to build another quality team as they take on the rest of the National Indoor Football League.
With staff and coaches returning from the league meetings in September, the FireAnts, after winning three front office awards for having the 2002 Atlantic Conference Best Statistics Crew, 2002 Atlantic Conference Best Game Day Presentation, and 2002 Atlantic Conference Best General Manager, are ready to do it all over again.
This year, the first tryout for the 2003 squad will take place on Sunday, November 17th starting at 1:00pm at Robbins Field in Tupelo. All interested athletes must bring the following items to tryouts: cleats, running shoes, and workout clothing for both cold and warm weather.
The tryout will cost $50.00 and will include a T-Shirt and two tickets to Tupelo's home opening game. All participants must be ages 19 or older.
"We are looking to make several improvements across the board in our lineup," Head Coach John Gore said. "We are looking for local talent and dedicated athletes that are looking for an opportunity to play, gain exposure, and win at this level."
