af2 Assigns Three to Vipers

Huntsville, AL- The af2 league office announced today that the Tennessee Valley Vipers have been assigned three more players for the 2003 season.

Former Alabama A&M fullback, Marvin Strong, former Alabama wide receiver, Michael James, and former Bowie State defensive lineman, Jobei Gazhette' will all come to camp with the Vipers in March hoping to land one of the 21 roster spots.

Strong was a four-year letterman at Alabama A&M from 1997-2001 where he played both fullback and linebacker. He played in 10 games on defense and recorded 19 tackles, three tackles-for-loss for 10 yards and one pass break up. He played in 22 games on offense and rushed for 480 yards on 101 carries and scored two touchdowns. He also caught four passes for 39 yards.

James (5-11, 175) played two years at Alabama in 2000 and 2001 after transferring from West Alabama where he played in 1997 and 1998. He caught three passes for 35 yards at Alabama and received the Ray Perkins Most Improved Player Award in 2000. He caught 33 passes for 898 yards and eight touchdowns while at West Alabama. He averaged an amazing 27.2 yards per reception. He also returned 40 kickoffs for 836 yards for a 20.9 average.

Gazhette' (6-4, 300) played four years at Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland.
