Tupelo FireAnts News Release

The Tupelo FireAnts will conduct their first open tryout of the off-season this Saturday, August 16th, at Robbins Field in Tupelo, located at the corner of Jackson and Church Streets.

The FireAnts, under the direction of Head Coach Bobby Hall, are looking for talented local athletes to help fill their 2004 National Indoor Football League roster.

"This is our first chance to take a look at interested candidates into this program," Head Coach Bobby Hall said. "We are looking to fill all of our positions. Even players that have been with our team in the past, are required to tryout again. We are looking for the best 25 players possible, no question about it."

Registration will take place at 8:00am, with camp running from 9:00-12:00 noon. An advanced evaluation tryout will be held for participants selected (invitation only) from the morning session from 2:00-5:00pm.

Interested participants must be ages 18 or older, and will need to bring running shoes, cleats and workout clothing appropriate for the weather. The cost is $50 and includes a Tupelo FireAnts T-Shirt and two tickets to the 2004 home opener at the BancorpSouth Center in Tupelo.

Participants that do not make the initial coaching staff cuts, will have the opportunity to return to any of the remaining FireAnts tryout camps, and will be exempt from any future camp registration costs through January 2004.

For more information, contact the FireAnts at (662) 620-BITE.
