Louisville Fire News Release
LOUISVILLE, KY - The Louisville Fire (10-7) defeated the Spokane Shock (12-5) scoring a point for every hour of travel made to Spokane, WA. The Fire came out strong leading 21-7, in the first quarter and did not let up unleashing an offensive assault never looking back.
Fire QB Joel Steele spread the love including three touchdown passes to WR Tiger Jones, two passing touchdowns to WR Lonnell Dewalt followed up with two rushing touchdowns by FB Demetrius Forney and one by Joe Washington. The Fire sealed the game with a final interception leading 62-35.
With six turnovers the Shock did not have a chance against a hungry Fire team who traveled more than 30 hours to meet their first round playoff opponents. This week the Fire continue their playoff trek and head to face the Green Bay Blizzard (10-7) who defeated the Quad City Steamwheelers on Friday night.
