
Fighting for the Derby Cup, Wilmington Welcomes Back Charleston

Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release
Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads will host the Charleston Battery Saturday, August 20th at Legion Stadium, kicking off at 7pm.
The last time these teams met was on May 21st where Charleston took home a 1-0 win, and previous to that, won 2-1 on April 9th. Saturday's match will be their third meeting of the season, and the final match for the Port City team to fight for the Southern Derby Cup this season.
Wilmington's head coach Mark Briggs stated, "Charleston is a very solid team and are competing at the top for a reason. It will be a great game against an instate rival and we plan on putting in a no nonsense performance for our fans."
