Fever Update

October 7, 2011 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Tri-Cities Fever News Release

Tri-Cities Fever Head Coach Adam Shackleford is already putting the 2012 Tri-Cities Fever Roster together for the upcoming Indoor Football Season and coach is stoked about what he sees so far : "It's been a very productive off season. We've got some good players signed. We're waiting for a bunch of the contracts signed to get back to us. We're recruiting a very high-caliber player list. The overall talent level for next year's team will be much higher."

It doesn't hurt recruiting to go to the IFL title game, but playing in Tri-Cities is more than that. The word is out that IFL Executive of the Year and Fever owner Teri Carr treats all players with respect and IFL players are telling all their indoor peers at every level that Tri-Cities is a great place to play.

Because of the NFL lockout, no rookie mini camps means almost 500 guys who would usually get a look, didn't and now are available.

Despite that, coach expects as many as a dozen players to return, which is unusual, but with the caliber of talent and camaraderie of last year's squad, including 6 players now living full time in Tri-Cities, (LB) Brandon Wilson, (DB) Lionell Singleton, (DL) Brian Rackley, and (QB) Houston Lillard all live here, these are guys who came to this part of the country and enjoyed it."

From the IFL meetings in Chicago it was announced a franchise was awarded to Albuquerque, NM and that Kent/Seattle was re-locating to Everett and will play their 2012 home games in the Comcast Arena .Fairbanks and Wenatchee Valley, both in the Fever's division last year, will not be playing in 2012.
