NEWS & NOTES

* In her first All-Star appearance, Tamika Whitmore scored nine points with four rebounds, a steal and a bench-leading two blocked shots in Madison Square Garden.

* On its way to its first win ever in Seattle's KeyArena, July 9, the Fever forced the Storm into a franchise record 28 turnovers, which is also the most ever by a Fever opponent. In that game, Seattle registered season-lows in points for the first (12), second (10) and third quarters (13), as well as the first half (22).

* Indiana's win at Seattle was its sixth road win of the season. That is one off the most road wins ever for the Fever in one season. The Fever won seven games away from Conseco Fieldhouse in 2005.

* Tamika Catchings, Tully Bevilaqua and Anna DeForge each had four steals against the Storm and the team totaled a season-best 15 steals at Seattle. Their four steals marked season-highs for both DeForge and Bevilaqua. Catchings (43) and Bevilaqua (41) represent two of the three players in the WNBA with 40+ steals this season. Catchings is tied with the Silver Stars' Shannon Johnson for the league lead with 43 steals apiece.

* Bevilaqua leads the Eastern Conference and is second in the WNBA with a steals-to-turnover ratio of 1.37:1. She led the WNBA in that category in 2005 with a ratio of 1.18:1.

* Anna DeForge has scored in double figures in each of the last six games, her longest streak of the season. In those six games, she has averaged 14.5 ppg and shot 12-27 from 3-pt range (.411). DeForge leads the Fever in 3-pt FG shooting at 39.0 percent. Her 32 3-pt FG this season rank fourth among Eastern Conference players and are tied for ninth most in the WNBA.

* Tickets for all Fever home games can be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, the Internet (Ticketmaster.com or FeverBasketball.com) or by phone at 1 (800) WNBA-TIX, in addition to select state-wide Marsh stores and Home Court II in Circle Centre Mall. QUOTABLE QUOTES

Brian Winters on the Fever win at Seattle:

"This was a great road win. That is what we came here to do. We were really good defensively and took them out of their offense early. And we didn't let up. We came out of the locker room (at halftime) and scored on our first four possessions and didn't give them any life."
