
Fever ready to take it to Xtreme

Kennewick, WA- The 6 - 4 Tri-Cities Fever travel to the other side of the United States this week to visit the New Jersey Xtreme at the Mennen Arena in Morristown, New Jersey. the Xtreme sit winless so far this season and have an 0 - 9 record. However, they have recently changed coaching staffs and 80 percent of their personnel and have looked like a much improved team the past couple of games. Game time is 4:35 PST with the KONA 610 AM pre game show starting at 3:50 pm.
The Fever look to make it five wins in a row when they take on New Jersey this week. Fever quarterback Doug Coleman has the Fever offense flying up the league statistical charts. The Fever are currently ranked third overall in scoring offense in the NIFL with a 54.4 points per game average. Responsible for most of that scoring is the passig game which ranks second overall in the entire league averaging 207.5 yards per game. Only two teams in the NIFL average more than 200 yards passing per game and that is the Fever and the Everett Hawks. Coleman has moved into first place in the NIFL in passing yards per game as he moved ahead of Everett quarterback Albert Higgs. Receiver Mike Rigell is on the other end of many of those Coleman passes and he ranks third in receptions per game and second overall in yards per game. He now has 59 receptions for 676 yards and 17 touchdowns. Mr. "do everything" Jarvis Dunn ranks fourth in the league in all-purpose yardage. He has racked up 175 rushing yards, 437 receiving yards, and 761 return yards for an average of 137.2 all purpose yards per game.
On the defensive side of the ball safety Jeremy Bohannon leads the team in tackles with 61. He has made 41 solo stops. He also has an interception and 6 pass break-ups. Linebacker Ron Childs is second on the team with 50.5 tackles, including 28 solos. Defensive back Rhodri "Bullet" Kirwan ranks in the leagues top ten in passes defended for the Fever. He currently has 4 interceptions and 7 pass break-ups. Fellow defensive back Sullivan Beard is a close second with two interceptions and 8 pass break-ups to his credit.
Injury Report: Offensive tackle Josh Jelinek has returned to practice this week nursing a badly sprained shoulder. It will be determined by Thursday after practice whether or not he will make the trip to New Jersey. Offensive and defensive lineman Robert Poleki has also returned to practice this week after sitting out last week with a sprained knee. He is probable for the New Jersey game.
