Fever Hoping for Good Luck Once Again in WNBA Draft Lottery

The Indiana Fever head into this weekend with the best odds to land the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft Lottery ahead of the 2024 WNBA Draft. Indiana joins the Los Angeles Sparks, Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm for the 23rd annual Draft Lottery, which will be broadcast on ESPN beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET on Sunday. The 2024 WNBA Draft is currently scheduled to take place on Monday, April 15.

Sunday will be the ninth time the Indiana Fever will participate in the WNBA Draft Lottery and could be the second consecutive season landing the No. 1 overall pick.

Last season, Indiana selected Aliyah Boston with the first No. 1 overall selection in franchise history and went on to be named the WNBA Rookie of the Year, and also earned WNBA and Associated Press All-Rookie Team recognition. The 6-foot-5 center became the eighth rookie in WNBA history and fourth player in franchise history to be named a WNBA All-Star Game starter.

Heading into the lottery, 13 of the 22 teams that had the greatest odds of winning the No. 1 pick actually won the top pick. This will be the fourth time in franchise history Indiana has the best odds heading into the lottery.

If Indiana wins the No. 1 pick, it could be the third time in WNBA history the same franchise selects No. 1 overall in consecutive drafts, joining the Seattle Storm in 2015 and 2016, as well as the Las Vegas Aces in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
