Fever Dancers Taking the Plunge
January 21, 2011 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Tri-Cities Fever News Release
The Tri-Cities Fever Dance Team is taking the plunge. The Fever Girls are participating in the annual Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Columbia Park in Kennewick as part of a fundraiser for the Special Olympics.
Last year, nearly 225 individuals took the plunge into the Columbia River, raising more than $40,000 for the Special Olympics Washington. The Polar Bear Plunge is an annual fundraising event put on by local law enforcement.
Special Olympics Washington provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community. The money raised for Washington's Polar Plunge will directly benefit more than 8,000 athletes across the state.
The Fever Dancers encourage you to come out Saturday morning to support this community event.
