Fever announce trade

May 3, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Tri-Cities Fever News Release

Kennewick, WA- Fever Defensive Lineman Malcolm Stewart has been traded to the Corpus Christi Hammerheads of the East Division in the Pacific Conference of the NIFL. In return the Fever receive quarterback/utility player DeMarcus Morris.

Morris played his college football at Evangel University in St. Louis, Missouri. At Evangel he played football and participated in Track and Field where he excelled in the 200-meter dash and the 110 hurdles. The Texas native quarterbacked a season with the semi-pro Texas Storm, leading them to a 14 – 1 record before joining the Intense Football League (now joined with the NIFL) San Angelo Stampede. With the Stampede, Morris backed up starting quarterback Jason McKinley (now the head coach of Corpus Christi) and also saw time as a receiver and on the special teams. In one game against Lubbock last season Morris scored four touchdowns in four different ways. One passing, one rushing, one receiving, and the last one on special teams. A tremendous athlete, the Fever hope Morris will fill the void of a back-up quarterback and also be able to help out in other areas to take advantage of his athleticism.

For more information or coach's quotes, please call Head Coach Dan Whitsett @ (509) 845-2191.
