
Ferro Steps up to the Plate

JOLIET, IL - The Joliet JackHammers are changing things up, starting with the front office. Mr. Peter Ferro will be taking over as the Team's President effective immediately. He will be taking the place of John Costello who will be moving into the roll of CFO.
Mr. Ferro is a founding shareholder and formerly served as Chairman of the Board of the Joliet Professional Baseball Club, LLC. Prior to founding the team, Ferro was a founding member of Empress Casino Joliet and Empress Casino Hammond.. Ferro began working in the family-owned P.T. Ferro Construction Company in 1964 and worked his way up through the ranks to the position of President. He is a life-long resident of Joliet and proud member of the Joliet community.
Along with Mr. Ferro moving into the mix Jamie Toole with be taking over the General Manager responsibilities and Kelly Sufka will become the VP of Operations & Marketing for the team. Jamie returned to the JackHammers in July after making various stops within baseball over the last 10 years. Kelly has just completed her 8th season with the JackHammers, and 14th season overall in Minor League baseball.
"This is a great opportunity to re-organize our front office and move people in to rolls that maximize the use of their strengths," states Pete Ferro. "We have some very talented people in our front office that may not have been being used to their best abilities. So it's time to shake things up, move some people around, bring in some fresh blood and get after it for 2010."
