Cedar Rapids, IA (January 29, 2004) Affordable, family fun and entertainment is about to surface in a new form. The Cedar Rapids River Raiders Professional Basketball team will join the world of Cedar Rapids professional sports with 15 games of high flying basketball action. The season will begin at the US Cellular Center in downtown Cedar Rapids on Friday April 16, 2004 at 7:15 against the Oklahoma Storm. Dave Joerger, current Head Coach of the CBA' s Dakota Wizards, will coach the River Raiders and joining him on the sidelines as Assistant Coach will be former University of Iowa basketball player Kenyon Murray.

The River Raiders will join the Midwest Division of the USBL consisting of five teams: Dodge City (Kansas) Legend, Kansas Cagerz, Oklahoma Storm and the St. Louis Skyhawks. The Eastern Division consists of six teams: Adirondack (New York) Wildcats, Brevard (Florida) Blue Ducks, Brooklyn (New York) Kings, Florence (South Carolina) Flyers, Pennsylvania Valley Dawgs and Westchester (New York) Wildfire.

The 2004 River Raiders season tickets start at $71.25 for the Balcony (Starter Level), $112.50 for the Concourse (All-Star Level) and $140.00 for the Floor Level (Hall of Fame Level). There are discounted price for children and fans 55 years and up. Season ticket holders will enjoy the same seats for all 15 home games.

The River Raiders will also have great family friendly entertainment acts at the games. Some of the entertainment during the games will include appearances by NBA mascots and dance teams as well as area talent.

Entertainment will also include the team's official cheer and dance team the Raiderettes'. They are under the direction of choreographer and former Chicago "Luvabulls", Melynda Wolter. "Bandit" the team's mascot will be at every game along with some of his friends and special guests.
