Streak Continues for Wild
The Vermont Wild and the Danville Dashers squared off for the second of a two game home stand at Green Mountain Arena. Coming off a two game winning streak the Wild came out in full force. With a quick goal in the first period the Wild opened up a lead of 5-1 . The Dasher then made a comeback and by the end of the period the score read 5-3 with Danville showing signs of life.
The second period proved to be just as fast paced as the first with goals by Dan Kohanchuk and Jon Esposito and heavy hitting on the Vermont side. By the second intermission the crowd had warmed up and the Wild were caming alive.
The final period began with a score of 7-6 in favor of Vermont. Dan Kohanchuk recorded his first hat tirck and led the team to a third straight victory with a final score of 11-8.

BROOKLYN, New York - The Brooklyn Aviators dropped a 3-2 decision on Saturday night to the Danbury Whalers in Federal Hockey League action at the Aviator Sports and Events Center.
Greg Holt paced the Whalers offense with a goal and two assists, and Nick Niedert stopped 30 shots in the victory for Danbury.
Danbury opened the scoring in the first period on a power play marker from Devin Guy with 1:53 left to go in the opening frame. Guy one timed a beautiful pass from Holt over the glove of Brooklyn netminder Pete Dundovich for his fourth marker of the season.
Trailing 1-0 early in the second period, Brooklyn quickly tied the game on Anthony Iaquinto's third marker of the year just :19 in. Iaquinto broke in short side and wristed the puck under the blocker of Niedert to get the Aviators on the board. Shortly after, and on the power play, Andrew Owsiak gave Brooklyn the lead, 2-1, at the 1:32 mark on his first goal of the season. The Dartmouth College product put home a loose puck after the initial shot from KC Timmons was blocked in front.
Danbury tied the game, 2-2, 6:41 into third period, after Holt's backhand got over the blocker of Dundovich. Steve Mallaro then put the Whalers ahead, 3-2, with a late power play goal with 4:22 left in the contest.
Dundovich is charged with his first loss of the season stopping 22 shots, while Niedert picks the win making 30 saves.
The Brooklyn Aviators return back to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Danbury to take on the Whalers at the Danbury Ice Arena. Cape Cod Falls to New Jersey 7-5

The Cape Cod Bluefins came out playing hard tonight, peppering New Jersey goaltender Adam Dekker with 51 shots and scoring 5 goals, but fell short tonight as they fell to the New Jersey Outlaws by a score of 7 to 5.
After a scoreless first period in which Cape Cod outshot the Outlaws 19-11, Anthony Sarno put Cape Cod on the board first with a power play goal halfway thourgh the period. New Jersey countered with goals by Tyler Barr and Matt Puntereri to take the lead late in the period, before Andrew Hutton fed Kevin Matheson a beautiful pass to set up Kevin Matheson on a breakaway to even the score at 2 through two periods.
At the start of the 3rd period, New Jersey came out flying, scoring 4 goals in a span of 2:10 on goals by Tyler Barr, Matt Miller, Matt Puntereri and Travis Kauffeldt to go up 6 to 2, before the Bluefins fought back with goals from Luke Frey and Garrett Peters to pull within 2, before Matt Puntereri capped off the hat trick with his third goal to make it 7-4. Garrett Peters closed out the scoring with his 2nd of the night to make it a 7-5 final.
The Bluefins are home on Wednesday against th Danville Dashers at 7pm. Great seats are still available.
