February MISL Players Of The Month Unveiled

Offensive

Adauto Neto, Philadelphia KiXX

Philadelphia forward Adauto Neto's star continues to shine bright in the City of Brotherly Love, with the 2006 MISL MVP having one of the best seasons of his career. Neto moved into the league lead in points with 46 after closing out the month with a six-point performance against the Baltimore Blast. His 15 goals are the most in the league, and his 15 assists are also the best mark in the MISL. For the month of February, Neto tallied 18 points in only four games (4.5 points/game), scoring six goals and six assists with his lowest point total in the month still being a multi-point scoring effort with three points.

Defensive

Pat Morris, Philadelphia KiXX

In three February games, veteran KiXX defender Pat Morris tallied eight points on four goals. He also blocked seven shots during those three contests while anchoring the Philadelphia defense. His two-point goal against Milwaukee on February 21st put the Philadelphia native over 450 points for his career. Morris, the January MISL Defender of the Month, ranks second on the KiXX and tied for sixth in the league with 33 points and leads the league with 26 blocks.

Goalkeeper

Nick Vorberg, Milwaukee Wave

Goalkeeper Nick Vorberg won both his starts in February as the Milwaukee Wave ascended to first place in the MISL. He stopped 21 of 28 shots and allowed just 14 points in the two victories. Vorberg is 6-4 on the season with a 9.18 PAA, second in the MISL.

About the Major Indoor Soccer League The MISL represents the major league of professional indoor soccer, featuring the finest indoor soccer players from around the world. The league consists of five member clubs in 2009-10: the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Milwaukee Wave. The regular season will run for 18 weeks and will conclude on Sunday, March 21. The postseason is set to start the following weekend with the top three teams qualifying. The second- and third-place teams will square-off in a home-and-home Semifinal series with the winner advancing to battle the top seed.
