Rockford was penalized three times in the span of 1:50 toward the end of the second quarter. One included a red card ejection handed to the Rampage's Semir Mesanovic with 3:05 remaining. In the midst of this stretch, the Wave's Oliviero tallied a penalty-kick goal at the 11:50 mark for an 8-6 lead. At the 12:53 mark, Fontana notched his second goal of the match on the power play for a 10-6 lead heading into halftime.

Then at the 6:54 mark, Rife scored again at the 6:54 mark on the power play, giving the Wave a 14-6 lead and extending their run to 10 unanswered points.
Rockford did chip away at Milwaukee's lead in the fourth quarter. Moura scored his second goal at the 0:52 mark of the quarter and Berenzon netted his second goal of the match at the 13:04 mark on the power play to go on a mini 4-0 run.
