FCC Third in USL Standings; Travel to Tampa Bay Rowdies, Host Richmond Kickers

FC Cincinnati will play two games this week and will make a trip to Tampa Bay Rowdies before hosting Richmond Kickers Saturday at Nippert Stadium.

The third round of the U.S. Open Cup match for the Orange and Blue kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed on U.S. Soccer's YouTube channel.

The club will then look to continue improving on its home record against Richmond Sat., at 7:00 p.m.

FCC is third in the USL Eastern Conference with a 6-2-2 record and 20 points.

The team sits beind New York Red Bulls II (6-1-3, 21 pts.) and Louisville City FC (7-1-3, 24 pts.)

SPREAD OFFENSE

The FCC scoring has come from nine different players with five scoring multiple goals.

Andrew Wiedeman moved up the stat sheet into a tie for second with Jimmy McLaughlin with three goals apiece after his first-half goal against City Islanders FC last Saturday.

Sean Okoli grabbed the out-right lead with his fourth goal after striking home a penalty kick in the second period.

FCC is out-shooting the opponents 151-97 and holds the edge on shots on goal, 72-46.

Defender Pat McMahon assisted on Wiedeman's goal for his first of the season and is tied for sixth on the team with three points.

U.S. OPEN CUP - ROUND THREE

All of the third-round games are scheduled to be played on June 1.

FCC won its inaugural Cup match against Indy Eleven NPSL, posting a 2-1 win, May 18.

Omar Cummings gave FCC the lead with Jimmy McLaughlin providing the game-winning goal in the second half off the bench.

The winner of the FCC-Tampa Bay match-up will travel to take on Columbus Crew, June 15 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

According to the Rowdies' website, all tickets for the match-up have been claimed, but the Rowdies may make a limited number of additional tickets available at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night. For more information, visit rowdiessoccer.com

The tournament is open to all affiliated amateur and professional teams in the United States, the annual U.S. Open Cup is a 100-plus-year-old single-elimination tournament and gives local amateur teams a chance to compete against the best teams a country has to offer.

TICKETS TO PALACE OPEN TO SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

Season ticket holders will have priority to purchase up to six tickets beginning Wed., June 1 for the friendly against Crystal Palace FC.

All season ticket holders' 2016 packages include one ticket to the friendly.

The Barclays Premier League member and FA Cup finalist will come to Cincinnati, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. as part of their North American tour.

TAMPA BAY ROWDIES

The Rowdies are tied for sixth in the NASL with a 3-2-2 (12 pts) record.

The club recorded a 2-0 win over Minnesota United FC last week.

Joe Cole and Eric Avila posted a pair of first-half goals with Cole also assisting on Avila's tally.

Tommy Heinemann leads the Rowdies with two goals.

HILDEBRANDT, WIEDEMAN NAMED TO USL TEAM OF THE WEEK

Mitch Hildebrandt and Andrew Wiedeman were honored for the second time on the USL Team of the Week.

Both were voted honorable mention after FCC posted a 2-0 win over City Islanders FC last Saturday.

Hildebrandt made five saves en route to his second clean sheet of the season.

Wiedeman gave FCC the lead for good with a shot from outside of the box that beat Islander goalkeeper Keasel Broome.
