MONTREAL - FC Montreal won 2-0 against Southern New Hampshire University on Wednesday afternoon, at the Olympic Stadium, in a preparation game for the 2016 USL season.

The Impact's second team scored the first goal in the second half. In the 60th minute, Aron Mkungilwa dribbled from the middle of the field. He took the space in front of him and entered the box with the ball before taking a low shot to the right corner.

In stoppage time, forward Jacques Haman took a defender on, using his speed, before beating the goalkeeper to score the last goal of the game and making it 2-0.

In the first half, a SNHU defender fouled Janouk Charbonneau in the box. Ballou Jean-Yves Tabla shot the penalty low to the left, but the goalkeeper saved it.

In the 59th minute, winger Fabio Morelli cut in the centre before taking a shot from outside the box, but the ball hit the crossbar.

"We were good defensively and recognized the moments when we could put high pressure, and that's the positive point," said Philippe Eullaffroy. "Then, it's frustrating to see the lack of efficiency in the last 20 metres, given the number of chances we created. If we don't fix this in the next weeks, we will suffer in the beginning of the season."

Two preparation games remain for FC Montreal before it starts its second USL season. On March 15, at 1:30pm, Montreal will face the USL defending champions, the Rochester Rhinos, before taking on the Ottawa Fury (NASL) on Saturday, March 19, at 2pm, at the Olympic Stadium.

"It's a big plus to play our last preparation games at the Olympic Stadium," added Eullaffroy. "We will be able to get used to many things."

The team will play its first game of the regular season on Friday, March 25, at 7pm, at the Olympic Stadium, against Bethlehem Steel FC, the second team of the Philadelphia Union.
