FC Montreal Faces Louisville City FC Wednesday

LOUISVILLE, KY - FC Montreal will face the hottest team in the USL, Louisville City FC, this Wednesday, August 5, at 7:30pm, at Louisville Slugger Field. The game will be available via web streaming at www.impactmontreal.com/fcmontreal.

The Bleu-blanc-noir tied 0-0 last Saturday against the Charleston Battery, playing most of the game with 10 players after the ejection of forward Charles Joly in the 42nd minute. This result represented a third clean sheet for goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau, a fourth one for the club, and it was the first of three games on the road in a 10-day trip.

Louisville is the hottest team in the league, currently on a six game winning streak. These positive results pushed the team into the second place in the Eastern Conference. Forward Matt Fondy is the top scorer of the team and third one in the USL with 19 goals.

"It was important to have a good result in this first game of three straight on the road," explained head coach Philippe Eullaffroy. "Louisville being the hottest team in the league at the moment is not important. Dealing well with the first game gives us momentum for the second game. We have to play well against them."

In the last meeting between the two teams, FC Montreal lost 2-0 at home. Head coach Philippe Eullaffroy was disappointed with the quality of play at the end of the game. The team will want to put a better performance this time on the field.

"We approach the game to be better every week," said Eullaffroy. "There's a reference point now because when we hosted Louisville, our performance was negative. Now, we need to show them that our standards are way better."

"The trip helps the players be professionals," added Eullaffroy about his team. "When we are on the road with three away games against quality teams, we have to be able to focus quickly on the following game. It's harder on the road because you need to deal with recovery, traveling, delays and food."

FC Montreal's next game will be played on Saturday, August 8, at 8:30pm ET, against Saint Louis FC at the World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
