FC Gold Pride Releases Updated 2010 Schedule
June 2, 2010 - Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) - FC Gold Pride News Release
HAYWARD, CA (June 2, 2010) - Women's Professional Soccer released the updated schedule for all remaining 2010 regular season games today. The schedule was reworked following the closing of the Saint Louis Athletica, to accommodate the seven teams that will complete the 2010 WPS season. The revised schedule took into account the six previously completed games that included Saint Louis Athletica, which will continue to count in the standings for those six WPS teams. The four-team WPS Playoffs will remain during the regularly-scheduled week of September 19-26.
FC Gold Pride, will still play all 12 home games at the originally scheduled dates and times. Opponents for the June 27 and July 11 home matches have been updated and will now feature Sky Blue FC and the Washington Freedom respectively.
The Pride's mid-week road match, originally scheduled for June 9 has been cancelled. In place of that game, the Pride will add on a third visit to KSU Stadium, home of the Atlanta Beat on August 1. The late-summer matchup has been added to the Fox Soccer Channel Broadcast schedule as the FSC WPS Sunday game of the Week.
Up next, FC Gold Pride will play host to Abby Wambach and the Washington Freedom this Saturday, June 5 at Castro Valley High School Athletic Stadium. This will mark the first time the Pride and Freedom will face off in 2010.
