
FC Cincinnati Academy Roundup: Preseason

FC Cincinnati News Release
The FC Cincinnati Academy took a clean sweep of wins over a pair of in-state rivals on Sunday, August 29. Each academy side is still in preseason play leading up to the MLS Next regular season beginning Saturday, September 11.
Here's a look at how each academy age group fared:
U-13 vs. Ohio Premier | WIN 7-1
Austin Fry's brace led the way in an offensive explosion for the U-13 squad in a win over Ohio Premier. He added an assist to his two goals on the way to a lopsided victory.
Cole Spaulding, Aidan Garmestani, Harlan Smith, Sammy Onipko and Anson Senter each tallied goals, and Camden Sphire, Cooper Neace and Gavin Weaver each registered an assist.
U-14 vs. Ohio Premier | WIN 3-1
Henry Merryweather's two-goal performance was the difference in the U-14's win over Ohio Premier. Drew Adams netted the third goal and assisted one more.
Garret Marchand posted the other two assists.
U-15 vs. Cleveland Force | WIN 2-1
JP Piedra scored twice as the difference in the U-15's win against Cleveland Force. His first came from the spot via penalty kick.
Brice Denigan assisted Piedra's second goal, the game-winner.
U-17 vs. Cleveland Force | WIN 4-2
Isaac Calderon scored twice, including once from the penalty spot, to give the U-17 squad a 4-2 win over Cleveland Force.
Connor Stout and Pablo Pujols each scored, while Sam Vota, Silas Borgman and Sabalian Roy earned assists.
UP NEXT
The MLS Next season begins Saturday, September 11 in Livonia, Michigan against Michigan Wolves SC. The schedule is as follows:
U-13 - 12 p.m.
U-15 - 12 p.m.
U-14 - 2 p.m.
U-17 - 2 p.m.
U-19 - 4 p.m.
