
Fayetteville's Parker Van Buskirk Named Easton Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Tuesday announced goaltender Parker Van Buskirk of the Fayetteville FireAntz is the Easton Player of the Week for March 7-13.
Van Buskirk went 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals against average, .962 save percentage and one shutout as the FireAntz swept a pair of games from visiting Louisiana and stopped a four-game losing streak.
On Friday, the Windsor, Ontario native made 15 saves in Fayetteville's 3-2 over Louisiana. Van Buskirk was even better the next night, stopping all 36 Louisiana shots, including 16 in the third period, as the FireAntz blanked the IceGators 1-0.
Van Buskirk is currently tied for second among SPHL netminders with two shutouts, ranks third in both minutes and saves and is tied for fourth with 11 wins. After playing parts of two professional seasons in the ECHL, Van Buskirk returned to college in 2011 and spent four seasons tending goal for the University of Windsor, where he went 63-34-0.
