Fayetteville's Matt Robertson Named Easton Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (January 6, 2015) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Matt Robertson of the Fayetteville FireAntz is the Easton Player of the Week for December 29-January 4.

Robertson scored three goals, including one game-winner, and added three assists as the FireAntz swept three games against Huntsville last week.

On Wednesday, the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan native scored the eventual game-winner on a third-period power play to lead Fayetteville to a 3-1 win over the Havoc. Robertson again led the FireAntz on Friday with a two-goal, one-assist effort in a 4-2 victory before finishing the weekend with a pair of assists in a 4-3 decision over Huntsville.

Signed as a free agent on December 11, Robertson has nine points in 10 games with the FireAntz. Now in his sixth professional season, Robertson was named to the All-SPHL First Team in 2012-13 when he scored 56 points in 56 games for Louisiana (27g, 29a).
