
Fayetteville Patriots Announce 2005-06 Cheer and Dance Team, Interactive Squads, and Mascot Audition

FAYETTEVILLE, NC., Aug 15, 2005 - The Fayetteville Patriots have announced audition dates and times for the 2005-06 Patriots Interactive Teams: the Hoop Troop, and Patriots mascot, Sgt. Slam. The auditions for all squads and will be held on Saturday, September 17th at The HealthPlex, located at 1930 Skibo Road, in Fayetteville.
On-site registration for the Patriots Hoop Troop Cheer and Dance Team auditions begins at 10:30 a.m. with auditions starting at 11:00 a.m. All Hoop Troop audition participants must be 18 years of age as of September 1, 2005. Dancers should wear performance makeup, jazz sneakers, and a two-piece outfit.
Auditions for the Mascot Sgt. Slam and non-dancing members of the Patriots Hoop Troop will begin at 3:30 p.m. with on-site registration starting at 3:00 p.m..
The following is a list of the different Patriots interactive and dance teams for the upcoming season:
Patriots Hoop Troop - The Patriots Hoop Troop Cheer & Dance squad will play a major role in enhancing the overall environment of Patriots games during the 2005 - 2006 season. Team will be comprised of dancers, age 18 and over, who entertain the crowd with exciting dance routines and courtside cheering at all Patriots home games. Squad will also make local appearances throughout the Southwest Fayetteville community during the season. Additional, non-dancing interactive marketing team will also be incorporated into the Patriots Hoop Troop for the upcoming 2005-06 season.
Sgt Slam - The hottest, most fun-loving mascot in the NBA Development League! Sgt. Slam's hilarious and crowd-pleasing antics have become a trademark of all Patriots home games and community appearances.
Patriots FANatics - A crazy, fun group of true Patriots Fans willing to do anything to pump up the crowd and cheer on the team at select Patriots games.
Hot Flashes--An on-court performance and community goodwill ambassador group of fabulous women, ages 55 and up (don't worry, we won't tell how "up"!), who enjoy life and new experiences.
The auditions will be directed by Patriots Director of Game Entertainment, Danita Johnson and J?Nata Pass. Pass brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Patriots organization with her extensive background in Cheer and dance.
