Chicago, IL - The United States Hockey League today announced the weekly award winners for the 10th week of the 2011-12 USHL regular season.
Award winners include forward Austin Farley of the Fargo Force, named CCM Offensive Player of the Week; defensemen Ethan Prow of the Des Moines Buccaneers, selected as CCM Defensive Player of the Week; and Matt Skoff of the Sioux City Musketeers who earned Reebok USHL Goaltender of the Week.
Farley scored seven points (5g, 2a) and earned a plus-four rating in two victories for the Force. He recorded a hat trick, which included the game-winning goal, in Friday's 7-5 win over Tri-City. The forward also dished out an assist for a USHL career best four-point game (3g, 1a). Farley then followed up with his second multi-point game of the weekend as he contributed to all three goals (2g, 1a) in the 3-2 win against Tri-City. The 18-year-old scored a shorthanded goal and again netted the game-winner. Farley is a native of Park Ridge, Illinois and is now tied for the USHL lead with 16 goals.
Prow recorded two points (1g, 1a) and a plus-two rating as the Buccaneers split a pair of games during the weekend. He was the hero on Saturday night as he netted the game-winning goal at 3:32 of overtime during the 3-2 victory against Team USA. It was the first goal of the season for the 19-year-old defenseman from Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. Prow has collected seven points (1g, 6a) in 14 games during his second USHL season and has posted a combined plus-five rating over his last three games.
Skoff won both of his starts for the Musketeers posting a 2.00 goals-against-average and .942 save percentage. He made 39 saves, one shy of equaling his season high, in the 3-1 victory over Des Moines on Friday. It was the 50th career victory in the USHL for Skoff. The 20-year-old from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania then turned away 26 shots in the 4-3 win against Lincoln on Saturday to record his third consecutive victory. Skoff has earned seven of the nine wins for the Musketeers this season and has won four of his last five starts.
