
Fans Have Final Word With POTW Balloting

LAKE CHARLES, La. (April 20, 2009) - The first week of the Southern Indoor Football League is in the books and now it's up to the fans to add the epilogue.
Two game MVPs from each opening weekend contest are the finalists for the inaugural player of the week award, which will be determined by fan vote on the league web site at http://www.southernifl.com. The voting concludes Tuesday night at midnight.
The four finalists are:
* Roland Hayes, Texas Pirates. Rushed for 4 Tds in 47-29 victory over Houma
* Jermaine Martin, Acadiana Mudbugs. Had six catches for 76 yards and 3 TDs in Mudbugs' 37-29 victory at Austin.
* Kimmee Lewis, Acadiana Mudbugs. Led defense with three interceptions, one for a TD.
* Ed Moore, Texas Pirates. Returned an INT for a touchdown as Texas held Houma to nine points in the first half.
The winner will be announced Wednesday.
