Fan wins bid to suit up with pro football team
ST. LOUIS, MO, May 10, 2006- With proceeds to benefit the United Way of Greater St. Louis, the RiverCity Rage, 2005 National Indoor Football League (NIFL) Atlantic East Division Champions, auctioned the opportunity to suit up with the team for the Rage vs. Tennessee Riversharks game on June 23. The EBay auction, which started at $0.99 and closed at $1,326, was won with only 17 seconds to go by Danny Massier of Saskatchewan, Canada.
A self-proclaimed huge fan of indoor football, Massier takes off from work every spring and travels across the United States to watch indoor football games. "I saw my first Rage game last year at the Family Arena and had a blast," he said.
Massier's winning bid entitles him to: A one-game professional contract with the RiverCity Rage, practice time with the team prior to the game, a game jersey, 20 tickets for the game, honorary captain status for the game, and play on Kickoff Coverage Team throughout the first quarter of the game.
The RiverCity Rage is part of the National Indoor Football League that plays in 24 cities across the United States. Tickets for all home games at Savvis Center can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com or at Savvis Center box office.
