Falcons Win Series
June 9, 2014 - West Coast League (WCL)
Kelowna Falcons News Release
The Kelowna Falcons scored three times in the bottom of the fourth on route to a 4-1 series clinching win over the visiting Victoria Harbourcats on Sunday.
Trey Kamachi, Scotland Church and Max Schuman each scored in the fourth as the offense took advantage of the Cats sloppy defense.
Starter Jeremy Newton turned in the best start of the series throwing 5.2 shutout innings while striking out five. Riley Barr pitched the final two innings and closed the door striking out two on route to his first save of the summer.
In a game that only lasted two hours and 27 minutes the Falcons tallied just four hits, two of which coming from Tommy Lane. Schuman recorded his first RBI of the season, adding an insurance run in the eighth inning.
The Falcons (2-1) will now depart on their first road trip, a three game series in Walla Walla (1-2) beginning on Tuesday against their divisional rival Sweets. They will return home on Friday for a weekend series with the Cowlitz Black Bears.
