July 22, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Kelowna Falcons News Release
The Kelowna Falcons fell 9-4 on Tuesday night in Walla Walla as the Sweets had 12 hits and took advantage of 3 Kelowna errors.
The Sweets scored 3 unearned runs off Kendall Motes in the 4 innings he worked, scoring singles in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, when the Falcons defense struggled.
Kelowna had a pair of runs in the 3rd off a Justin Flores double and Max Carter single, and went up 4-3 in the 5th after two Sweets errors allowed JJ Muno and Flores to score. Max Carter had an RBI.
Walla Walla would score 3 times in the bottom half of the 5th and take a 6-3 lead off of Andre Jackson on the strength of 2 walks and 3 straight hits.
The Sweets would add 1 in the 7th and 2 in the 8th to seal the deal.
The game was delayed by more than 30 minutes in the 4th when Home Plate Umpire John VanDoozer took a fastball to the forearm. The two teams had some fun during the delay, having dance offs and pulling a few different stunts. (VIDEO COMING TOMORROW)
The Falcons will play Game 2 on Wednesday night at 7:05 when they send Nat Hamby to the mound against the Sweets. Pre-Game show with Kyle Anderson will be on kelownafalcons.com starting at 6:50.
