
Falcons CEO John Tull to Emcee Valley Animal Center Fundraiser

FRESNO, CALIF. - Fresno Falcons CEO John Tull will serve as the emcee for the Valley Animal Center's 15th annual Cool Cats and Doggie Divas Fundraiser on Saturday, July 19. The fundraiser benefits the Valley Animal Center's no-kill shelter and spay/neuter/vaccination clinic for dogs and cats.
The event, which will be held at the home of Fresno State President John Welty at 4411 Van Ness Boulevard, begins at 5:30 p.m. with a wine and appetizer reception, while guests can begin bidding on silent auction items and sunken treasure jewelry auction items. At 7:00 p.m., the gourmet dinner buffet begins, followed by a live auction featuring a trip to The Masters, a trip to the Indianapolis 500, a champagne brunch in a hot air balloon, and more. The event concludes with dessert and the Doggie Divas fashion show featuring local Girl Scouts and adoptable dogs from the Valley Animal Center dressed to impress for the pirate-themed event.
"The Fresno Falcons proudly support the Valley Animal Center and their mission to save cats and dogs, and to promote the pet adoption process," Tull said. "Saturday's Cool Cats and Doggie Divas dinner and auction is a celebration for pet lovers and I strongly encourage Falcons' fans to participate."
Tickets can be purchased by calling the Valley Animal Center's administrative office at (559) 233-8690. Individual tickets are $55, tables of eight are $450, and special "Sponsor's Cove" tables of eight can be purchased for $650. The "Sponsor's Cove" tables receive unlimited champagne at their table all night long, and are placed right next to the runway for premium views of the popular Doggie Divas fashion show.
Opening Night 2008 at Selland Arena is set for Friday, October 24, when the Falcons host their arch-rivals, the Bakersfield Condors, at 7:35 p.m.

Began in 1988-89 with five teams playing in four states, the Premier âAA' Hockey League has grown into a coast-to-coast league that will have 23 teams in 16 states and British Columbia playing 828 games from Oct. 17, 2008 to Apr. 4, 2009. Eighteen of the 23 teams have played at least five years in their current city.
The third-longest tenured professional hockey league behind only the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League, the ECHL averaged 4,174 per game last season, marking the fourth year in row and the 16th time in the last 18 years that the league has averaged over 4,000 fans. The league has drawn over four million fans each of the last five years and 11 times in the past 12 seasons.
