Extreme's Raymond shines in UIF all-star game

Multi-talented Andre Raymond of the Bloomington Extreme indoor football team displayed his wares Saturday in the United Indoor Football All-Star Game at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux Falls ( Iowa ) by earning the Most Valuable Player honors for the Eastern Conference in a 57-39 losing effort.

Raymond accounted for 204 of the Eastern Conference's 426 total yards. He gained 17 yards on four carries, including touchdown runs of 1 and 2 yards. He added 57 yards in receiving on five catches and returned seven kickoffs for 130 yards.

Extreme kicker Peter Christofilakos booted a 30-yard field goal and was two for three on two-point conversion drop-kicks. He missed two conventional point-after-touchdown kicks. He averaged 56.4 yards on five kick-offs.

Bloomington running back Keith Brooks carried the ball seven times for six yards. The Extreme also was represented on offense by lineman Eric Johnson.

Defensive back Terrill Mayberry of the Extreme was third on the Eastern Conference with four tackles, including three solos. Fellow Bloomington teammates Quince Holman had three tackles, including two for loss, while Marvin Campbell and James Temple added one each.

Extreme players Dusty Burk, James Walton, Justin Montgomery and Jamarkus Gorman were selected to play in the game, but did not participate.

Omaha wide receiver Ken Horton was the Western Conference's Most Valuable Player, catching six passes for 89 yards and three touchdowns. He scored the Western Conference' first three touchdowns as it moved to a 29-18 halftime lead and never looked back to even the overall all-star series at one win apiece.
