 Bloomington Extreme News Release
The Bloomington Extreme hopes to make Omaha another good stopping point on its drive to a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference of the United Indoor Football League in 7:05 p.m. inter-division game Saturday at Civic Auditorium.
The Extreme, which has never lost in Omaha, carries a 6-6 record into the game after snapping a three-game losing streak and setting a franchise record for victories in a season with a 40-15 triumph over Colorado in its last outing Saturday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
The two teams met earlier in the season in Omaha with the Extreme earning a 56-44 triumph as quarterback Dusty Burk completed 18 of 26 passes for 259 yards and six touchdowns.
Glenn Johnson and Reggie Gray each caught seven passes and combined for five touchdowns. Johnson gained 138 yards and scored three touchdowns, while Gray gained 79 yards and had two touchdowns.
The Extreme, which enjoyed a 46-40 victory over the Beef in Omaha last season, leads the all-time series between the teams, 2-1.
Omaha has a 5-7 record this year in the Western Conference. The Beef ended a three-game losing streak in its last outing with a 30-27 victory at home against Sioux City.
After playing at Omaha, the Extreme entertains Billings in its final regular-season home game at U.S. Cellular Coliseum on July 7 at 8:05 p.m. before concluding the regular season at Evansville.
The Extreme is currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, two games ahead of fifth-place Evansville (4-8); one-half game behind third-place Lexington (7-6) and one game behind second-place RiverCity (7-5).
The top four teams in the each conference make the postseason playoffs with the highest seeded team serving as the host team in the playoffs. Rock River leads the East with a 9-4 record.
Tickets, priced as low as $10, for the Extreme's final home game on July 7 are on sale at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum box office. Tickets also may be purchased by calling 309-434-2679; 866-891-9992 or going to the team web site at www.bloomingtonextreme.com or www.uscellularcoliseum.com.
