Extreme ties UIF record for points in 76-73 victory

Peter Christofilakos kicked a 28-yard field goal as time expired to give the Bloomington Extreme a 76-73 victory over the Sioux City Bandits in United Indoor Football League action before 4,181 people Saturday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

The Extreme tied a UIF record for most points scored in game, while setting a franchise record. The two teams combined to set a league record for points scored in a game with 149. Sioux Falls also scored 76 points in a game last season.

Extreme quarterback Dusty Burk set a team record and league record with seven touchdown passes. He completed 21 of 29 passes for 252 yards with only one interception.

The 10 touchdowns scored by the Extreme also tied a league record. More importantly, the victory moved the Extreme's record to first-place record in the Eastern Conference to 6-5, while Sioux City dropped to 3-7.

Glenn Johnson was the Extreme's leading receiver with 10 receptions for 132 yards and three touchdowns, while Derin Graham and James Walton each caught five passes. Graham had 74 yards and one touchdown, while Walton had 37 yards and three touchdowns.

The Extreme's other touchdowns came on a 15-yard run by Burk; a 5-yard run by SoSo Brooks and a 49-yard kick-off return by Andre Raymond.

Christrofilakos tied a league record when he was perfect on 10 conversion kicks. He also added a 23-yard field goal to go along with the game winner.

The Extreme is off until May 31 when it travels to St. Charles (Mo.) to meet Eastern Conference rival RiverCity at 7:05 p.m. at Family Arena.
