
Extreme signs Mckinstry, regains Powell

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington Extreme head coach Ted Schmitz announced Thursday the signing of defensive back Greg Mckinstry, who has three years of experience playing indoor football.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Mckinstry began his professional career with the Sioux City Bandits in 2002. He played the following season with the Green Bay Blizzard of the af2. The University of Northern Iowa graduate played with the Lincoln Capitals last season. He was a second-team Gateway Conference selection at UNI.
Schmitz also announced that Eric Powell has been added to the 30-man roster this week. Powell, a graduate of Eastern Michigan, played for the Peoria Roughriders in the UIF last season. He gained 64 yards on 18 carries.
Players waived this week included running back James Fuller, defensive lineman Randall Guzman and wide receiver Agim Shabj.
The Extreme returns to action Saturday with a 7:05 p.m. Eastern Conference game against Lexington at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington. Tickets for all Extreme games are on sale at the Coliseum box office.
