Bloomington Extreme News Release

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Bloomington Extreme indoor football coach Ted Schmitz likes what he see from his team as it heads into its second scrimmage Thursday (March 22) as part of the second annual Fan Fest festivities.

"We had our defense finalized for our first scrimmage and now we feel we have our offense finalized," said Schmitz, whose team opens its season March 30 at 7:35 p.m. against Rock River at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

"We feel good about where we are at. We have scaled down our offense and have the package we plan to use against Rock River in place. Fans at the scrimmage will see what we quite possibly will use on offense in the Rock River game."

The scrimmage, in which Schmitz will wear an on-field microphone to explain to fans different situations and drills, starts at 7 p.m. with kicking drills. The team will go through individual and group drills until 8 p.m.

Following the drills, the offense will go against the defense in a controlled scrimmage-setting until 8:30 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and pictures following the scrimmage.

Doors to the Coliseum open at 6:30 p.m. for the Fan Fest, which is free and open to the public. Fans also will have a chance to purchase the team's newest line of merchandise at the team store, located on the concourse level of the Coliseum.
