Chicago Express News Release


Hoffman Estates, IL - The Chicago Express, proud member of the ECHL and proud affiliate of the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, went 1-1-0-0 last week and are now 8-5-0-1 (17 points), and second in the North Division. Chicago heads to Reading and Trenton this week, and will play their next six games on the road.

Toledo 4, EXPRESS 1

The Walleye scored first when D Simon Danis-Pepin tapped home a pass to go up 1-0 just 43 seconds into the second period. The 1-0 score stood until Toledo increased its lead when RW Kyle Rogers scored during 4-4 action at 9:48 of the third. C Rob Flick stretched the lead to 3-0 with a power play goal at 17:09, but Chicago F Mike Embach scored shorthanded 23 seconds later for the lone Express tally, and Toledo added a final goal in the last minute for the eventual 4-1 win.

Saturday, November 19

EXPRESS 2, Cincinnati 1

The Cyclones came out firing, posting 16 shots in the first period, but Chicago scored first when D Darcy Campbell struck on the power play with 1:21 left in the first period. LW Garrett Wilson evened the score with a power play goal of his own 1:14 into the second period as the two clubs went tied 1-1 into the second intermission. LW Blair Riley, who hit four goalposts in the game, scored 41 seconds into the third period to boost the Express to a 2-1 win. G Allen York, who was assigned by Columbus for the game, stopped 38 of 39 shots in the win.

Team Notes:Chicago is a perfect 4-0-0-0 against Cincinnati, including two shootout wins.G Allen York stopped 38 of 39 shots in his Express and ECHL debut to earn the win on Saturday. Chicago was outshot 39 to 12 in the game.The Express are now 7-2-1 when being outshot.Chicago is undefeated at home on Saturday Nights.LW Blair Riley has recorded multiple points five times in 14 games, and leads the Express in multiple-point games.G Rob Nolan, who earned his first AHL call-up on Saturday, needs just one more win to reach 50 in his professional career.
