Express Set to Take on the Cedar Rapids Titans
April 27, 2012 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Reading Express News Release
The Cedar Rapids Titans will travel to Reading, PA to take one the Reading Express at the Sovereign Center on Savage 61 Dodge field at 7 p.m. This will be the inaugural match-up between the two teams . The Titans are looking to snap a 5 game losing streak, while the Express are looking to finally pick up a win of their own.
Last week the Titans were defeated by the Omaha Beef, while the Express was defeated by the Bloomington Edge.
The Titans are lead by quarterback Kenneth Black, who has a 56% completion rate with 307 yards and 6 passing touchdowns in three games. On the other hand, the Express quarterback, Tim Bailey has 19 touchdowns on the season and is sitting at a 58% completion rate.
The Express will need to work around the loss of their leading receiver Dominique Jones who was picked up by the NFL's Indianapolis Colts earlier in the week. Bailey will look to receivers Keith Stokes and Chris Schubert to help make up for the loss of Jones. Defensively, Michael Thompson has recorded 45 tackles this season with two sacks.
The Titans are averaging 29.1 points per game and the Express is averaging 39.7 points per game. Both teams started their last game with the lead, but lost the lead during the fourth quarter. So for this week, that fourth quarter finish will make all the difference in snapping both of these teams losing streaks.
