
Express Plan Memorial Service for Tootoo

Roanoke, VA â The Roanoke Express and the entire community of the Roanoke Valley today mourn the tragic loss of would-be second year forward Terence Tootoo. Tootoo, 22, was found dead early Thursday afternoon in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada in the woods behind the house where he was staying. The cause of death ruled by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who discovered his body, was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
To celebrate Terence and all that he brought to Roanoke Express fans, the people of the Roanoke Valley, mainly children, and ECHL fans league wide, a memorial service will be held to celebrate his life next Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at the Roanoke Civic Center at 6:00pm on the main floor of the arena.
In his honor this season, the Express will also wear a patch on their home and away jersey's of a red heart with the number "22" emblazoned on it. The team will retire his jersey at the start of the season and the Roanoke Civic Center will have a permanent ice logo of the number "22".
