
Explosion To Host Open Player Tryouts January 11

MONROE, Wash. - December 15th, 2008 - The Snohomish County Explosion announce they will be hosting an open player tryouts for the upcoming season. This will be held in Monroe, Washington on January 11th at Monroe Boys and Girls Club. Tryouts start promptly at 2:00 p.m. on the Sunday the 11th, in the main gym at 261 Sky River PKWY Monroe Washington, 98271.
Open tryouts offer athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of Explosion coaching staff, including the head coach and general manager. Players will compete to earn an invitation to the Explosion official Training Camp, which is scheduled to begin March 14th.
During the 08 open player tryouts, both Chris Keller and Michael Boyle earned a spot on the Explosion roster. Chris played in 23 games with the Explosion, averaging 12.1 points per game and was the MVP of the "North vs. South" All Star Game. Michael, played in 11 games averaging 2.7 points per game and 2.0 assist.
"This is such an invaluable opportunity for our team," said Explosion GM, Brad Sturlaugson. "It is the perfect way to fill our roster for the upcoming season."
Applicants can pre-register by submitting an application, along with a $20 fee. You may also show up 30 minutes before the tryout and grab an open spot for tryouts.
