The game was hotly contested throughout and looks to be the beginning of a Northwest rivalry. The teams combined for 65 personal fouls, 30 for the Slam and 35 for the Explosion. Despite the number of fouls, no one from either team was disqualified. The Explosion snared 18 offensive rebounds and scored 22 second chance points compared to the Slam's 3 second chance points.
