December 13, 2006 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1)
Utah Eagles News Release

Travis Garrison got off the plane, unwrapped his super man cape, and proceeded to help the Great Falls Explorers dominate the Utah Eagles in Salt Lake City. Garrison watched his Explorer teammates find a rhythm, then joined in on the fun and left the Utah Eagles with a three game losing streak.

Garrison wasn't alone, as 6 other Explorer players reached double figures, but the first period was Jamar Howard and Marc Mazur, who each chipped in 6 points each in leading Great Falls to a 25-20 lead after one quarter. John Millsap gave the Eagles an early lead with 8 points, but that lead in the first quarter was the last lead of the night for Utah.

Garrison, then scored 9 points in the second period while Marlyn Bryant added 7, as Great Falls extended its lead to 57-44. Josh Nigut caught fire and kept the game as close as one man could for Utah, but the Explorers got 20 first half free throw attempts that could not be matched.

Millsap and Mike Hall made a brief run for Utah to start the third quarter, but Malik Moore and Garrison combined for 12 points in creating a 15 point lead in the quarter, 89-74.

The final period only served as a showcase for Garrison and Keith Salscheider, as the pair combined for 18 points, as the Explorers spent the final quarter extending its lead to as much as 25, on their way to a 24 point win. Garrison finished with 24 points and 6 boards, while Alchemies ended with 22. Marc Mazurka, Bryant, Jo van Harris, Moore and Harmon Williams all ended in double figures for Great Falls. Millsap finished with 26 points and 15 rebounds, while Rob Griffin and Josh Nigut ended with 16 each. Mike Hall completed the double digit scoring with 12 points.

The same two teams will meet in Great Falls Wednesday night in Great Falls, before playing back to back in Great Falls, before heading to Yakima as well. Eagles home games can be heard by visiting the web at www.utah eagles.com.
