Exhibition Games Scheduled

SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Saints today announced that the team has scheduled two exhibition games against the arch-rival Odessa Jackalopes to drop the puck on the 2003-04 season. The games are slated for October 10th at the San Angelo Coliseum and Oct. 11th in Odessa with both games set for 7:05 p.m. Admission to the home exhibition game will be free to season ticket holders and walk-up ticket prices will be released at a later date.

Also today the Saints reported that sales of Corporate Sponsorships and Season Tickets are continuing at a rapid pace. According to the CHL league office, the Saints ranked 5th out of the league's 17 teams for new corporate sponsorships in June. The team has also doubled what its season ticket sales were at this point last season. Saints head coach and Asst. GM Ray Edwards is particularly pleased with this latest league report.

"This report shows us that we are doing things the right way," said Edwards. "Local businesses and fans have been very receptive to our sales efforts and are showing us that San Angelo is a true hockey town and that our organization is heading in the right direction."

A top priority for the Saints this off-season is to be more involved in the community. To that end Edwards will be participating in Meals for the Elderly's annual Big Wheels Deliver Meals event tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to Noon.

"Events like this are things that the team needs to be participating in all the time," said Edwards. "We need to support the community that supports us, so everyone will be seeing a lot more of the Saints around San Angelo from now on."

Other announcements by the Saints in the coming weeks will include the unveiling of the team's new mascot, a public service campaign that will continue throughout the year and more player signings as the team continues to move forward in preparation for the 2003-04 season.
