Tennessee Valley Raptors News Release
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. â Tennessee Valley Raptors coach Dick Adams has announced the signing of offensive/defensive lineman Ron Wilson, a former Viper and Alabama A&M standout.
Wilson, 6-foot-2, 290 pounds, will be in uniform Saturday night when Tennessee Valley hosts the Peoria Rough Riders at the Von Braun Center. Kickoff is set for 7:30 and the first 1,500 adults 21-and-over will receive a Raptors cap compliments of Budweiser and WAAY-TV 31.
"Ron is a great addition for us and he's experienced in the indoor game,'' Adams said. "He's also a two-way player that can benefit us on both sides of the ball. It never hurts to have another big body up front."
Wilson lettered at Alabama A&M from 1999-2002 and never missed a game after starting as a true freshman. He played in 12 games for Tennessee Valley during the 2003 season and 11 in 2004, totaling 25 tackles and one sack while helping anchor the offensive line.
